About the Fire Department
Our three fire stations are geographically located to provide fast response anywhere in the city. We train extensively to hone our skills so that in your time of need, you will receive fast, expert service.
The Fire Department operates specialized units for hazardous-materials decontamination, swift-water rescue, and mass-casualty situations.
Our cooperative agreements with surrounding cities in two counties enable us to receive any type of assistance required by the circumstance.
The Fire Department conducts numerous school and public presentations each year to raise the public's awareness of fire and personal hazards. The approach is to educate the public about the risks found in everyday life, such as bicycle safety, pool safety, and fire exposures.
We encourage all citizens to visit our facilities and talk with our personnel. We know you will enjoy the experience and we solicit your suggestions for additional ways we can serve you.
Our mission is to: "Protect the Public, Be Polite, Go Home Safe."
